My powerbook g4 12" was on 24/7. I power it off because I was about to travel. And when I came back ... the machine was DEAD.
I quickly put the Leopard DVD inside. The machine actually boot up. The disk tool just said that the hard drive wasn't working anymore. Actually it's not even spinning.
I went to the internet, and then find that one of the cheapest options were MacService (best deal on hard drive for powerbook g4 12"). But tried to get it fixed in the apple store, hiring my very own personal mac genius (such a hottie in cambridge, ma).
Anyway, the girl just went really really sincere and recommend me not to doing it in the apple store. The quote in the apple store was higher (like 360 usd) for a 80g drive.
In the case of MacService, the change will be for 195USD.
The nice thing? This genius @ the apple store actually provided me with the best shop experience ever. She was very sincere. And obviously, I was thinking that maybe I should just save and get a new macbook (the white one).
I hope that other companies learn from Apple. Even if they are not able to sell you something, you will feel quite happy there. Great customer experience. |
